Mutual Aid India – Completed Campaigns

Among our first initiatives is a fundraiser for the sum of Rs. 10,00,000 to procure oxygen cylinders that will be donated to the Government Hospital Pool of the Tiruppur District. Our healthcare systems have been overburdened by the latest surge in covid-19 cases, this contribution will help enhance the capacity of Government Hospitals.

We have partnered with the Tiruppur District Administration to facilitate the delivery of the said oxygen cylinders and handle their distribution. The administration has also accepted the responsibility of subsequent refilling of cylinders on rotation and ensuring hospitals have a smooth supply.

The administration has assured that these cylinders will further be used for medical facilities in rural areas of the district as the surge of cases spreads to these regions.

Working with the government and NGOs, they will supply medicines, masks, oxymeters and infrastructural support in rural areas of Jabalpur and Katni districts in Madhya Pradesh.

• Minjur, Tamil Nadu does not have a single x-ray machine in any hospital. The town has only one government hospital and a tiny private clinic. Covid patients have had to travel 10 km to get to Ponneri, the nearest x-ray facility.
• Srija, a resident of Minjur, is raising funds to buy a second hand X-Ray machine for the local government hospital.

Our goal is two fold -

1. To provide the health care centres in Bahjoi and Chandausi with Oxygen concentrators and cylinders. 2. To run an awareness program in the villages in the district Sambhal regarding medication and especially, vaccination.

• Aims to procure 100 oxygen concentrators for the local administration, who will further distribute them to the hospitals. Currently, concentrators with 10L costs ~$1250 and 5L costs ~$750.
• Will support local NGOs and gurudwaras in Dhanbad to supplement and expand the reach of their ongoing feeding programmes.

• Raising donations for a local hospital in the rural village of Kosadi, in Gujarat, India. 
• All donations directly to trusted contacts working with the Kosadi Medical Trust, who know the community needs.

This is a fundraiser to provide 50 concentrators to a small district in rural India: 5 oxygen concentrators at each of the 10 peripheral hospitals. Each concentrator costs INR 95,000 (almost $1275).

* 65 families from the Buddhist community in Mandki village have tested positive for COVID, of which 7 people have died due to lack of resources and care. Most of these families are daily wake workers who work in mines and farms. Funds are being allocated to procure rations for these families for at least one month.

• Distributing ration kits containing rice, dal, atta, spices, and sanitation items, each costing ₹ 2500
• Running vaccines help desks in communities, to encourage more people to register for the vaccine as it remains the best way to overcome the virus, each of which costs ₹ 45,000 to run per month

We are working with the following unions and associations to identify urgent needs of workers in Meghalaya and create lists of  workers’ and their families in various localities who are most severely affected due to the pandemic:

2. North East Regional Domestic Workers Movement
3. Workers Power of Meghalaya
4. A Federation of Workers Union

Items urgently needed included essential food supplies like rice and pulses and medical care.

• The campaign is hosted by Priyanka Ulaganathancurator of the community 'Revamp by ஆவல் (Aaval)' along with 'Alternative Media Centre' (which works with around 50,000 folk artists)
• Out of the 2,46,332 folk artists (date from the survey taken by Palayankottai St.Xavier's College), only 33,000 of them are registered with the Govt of Tamil Nadu.
• Only the registered get financial assistance leaving the rest. some of whom are having to pawn their instruments due to the current lockdown

• raising funds to support families in Mumbai Suburbs.
• Each kit consists of Rice (5kg), Pulses (2kg), Flour (5kg), Oil (1ltr) and Salt (1kg).
• The cost of each ration kit is Rs 1000

• Providing ration kits to drivers and beggars in Mumbai slums, likely most affected by the pandemic
• Ration for one family: Rs 1500 per month
• Ration kit: Aata, dal, rice, salt, sugar, oil, and toiletries

We request your support to reach at least 1000 families living in urban slums in the month of May 2021. Our teams have identified families that are most in need of direct relief, including families with pregnant women, daily wage earners, single-woman households, etc. Each ration pack will contain essential groceries and health products including – Rice, Wheat Flour, Dal varieties, Cooking Oil, Sugar, Salt, Tea Powder, Bathing Soap, Detergent bar and Detergent Powder. The cost of each pack is Rs.800/- Each donation of Rs.800/- will support one family of 5-6 members for a 12 to 15-day period. These packs will be distributed in the following areas:

• Kalwa – 250 ration packs
• Dharavi – 250 ration packs

We request your support to reach these 500 needy families when it is required the most.

• Aims to provide dry ration kits to migrant workers and their families in affected areas in Delhi. To provide other aids (medicines & medical equipment, tarpaulin sheets, other household items, etc.)
• The money collected will help prepare 700 dry ration kits for the time being which will be distributed among the migrant workers and their families living in Subhash Camp, Ragpickers Colony (near Britannia Chowk), Madipur, Punjabi Bagh Flyover, Shivaji Park and Cement Siding near Shakurbasti Railway station. Each kit costs around Rs 750.

Provide comprehensive FOOD KIT to each of our 30 students + 20 tribal families in Karjat for 1-2 months.

• The Annapurna Campaign is an effort to help the families from slum communities, survive and protect themselves during initial (mild) corona.
• Raising money to provide primary medicines/treatment and dry nutritional food items to boost immunity of the families of their students (daily wage earners in various occupations such as construction workers, manual labors, rickshaw pullers, and house helps)
• provide primary treatment to mild covid patients with nutritional food items including tele-guidance with COVID-19 related guidance. The kit includes all the necessary items required to sustain a family for the crucial week.

Provides unemployed daily wage earners, servants, drivers, construction workers, and day laborers with Grocery Kits (Toothpaste, tea, atta, oil, pulses, soaps, powders, rice) 

• Providing food and support to 400 families in Ganga Nagar, Gond Basti, Bhopal
• Food ration for about 2 weeks.

• To provide relief to communities who aren’t able to do daily labour and earn at the moment.
• Extra efforts to reach pregnant women, single women, disabled, homeless among the poorest of the poor Nomadic & De-notified Tribes living on outskirts of towns and villages

• Adivasi Lives Matter wants to arrange emergency relief material for 10 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups in Chhattisgarh, Tripura, and Tamil Nadu.
• ALM wants to provide a 15-day ration kit to 6000 families. They also want to provide masks to 15,000 people, as well as the medication required after vaccination. They will also raise awareness about the benefits of vaccination among 75,000 people.

• Elizabeth Reji is raising funds for his friend's father, Binoy P Sebastian who is suffering from Covid-19
• He is undergoing treatment at Max Super Speciality Hospital (East Wing), New Delhi, and has been in the ICU for a month.
• They've managed to organise resources up until now but need an additional Rs.15,00,000 for the treatment

• They were a small family of three with a daughter, Swara 8 years old. All of them tested positive on 01/05/2021.
• Swara recovered, however, both Pravin and Supriya's condition worsened,
• They had to be admitted to hospital on 7th May. Later they were moved to Hinduja Hospital on 16th May as their condition was critical. 
• Hospital bills accumulated are 27 Lakhs which we have paid. However, now we are short of funds for treatment further.
• Further, the ECMO Therapy for Pravin will cost around 60 lakhs.

• Rohit is raising funds for his father Ravinder.
• Post-Covid, due to high sugar levels and high dose of medication, his body has become weak and he got infected with black fungus i.e., mucormycosis.
• The operation has been done and the fungus has been removed, however, they are suggesting that he needs to be under their observation for atleast 1 month. 
• His treatment is going to cost us about 1 lakh rupees per day for next 3-4 weeks.

• My First Cousin Jatoth Kavitha aged 25 years got covid positive 6 days ago and yesterday she got admitted into the hospital shifted to the Emergency ward which costs around 70,000 per day because of her very low Oxygen levels.
• Her father being a farmer They are running out of savings and doctors said she needs to stay in the Emergency ward for 4days until the oxygen level comes to normal.

The patient is the sole earning member of the family. The patient's wife is also admitted to the same hospital now. As of now, the expenses for each day stands at around  Rs. 20,000 for the patient. The family has exhausted all their savings and urgently need your help. Please contribute whatever you can, however small an amount.

Update: Sadly Vijoy's grandfather passed. The family is raising some to cover hospital bills and funeral costs.

Dilip Kumar (aged 52 years) has been out of work for almost 2 years now. His family is facing a huge financial crisis. They exhausted all their savings in the 2020 lockdown. Dilip was the breadwinner of the family of 5 before the pandemic. Now, he has pneumonia and is also losing all function in one of his arms. We aim to collect sufficient money to ensure that the family survives the pandemic and has the means to pay medical bills for Dilip's entire treatment, as well as any emergency that may befall them.

• 'Help Nagaland Breathe' is an initiative started by a group of volunteers from India and abroad focussed on dealing with Covid-19 in the state.

• WSO(We Shall Overcome) is a group of volunteers from Darjeeling hills, & Dooars who are fighting the Covid19 pandemic by connecting people to existing healthcare services.

• Since the virus has spread to remote areas where healthcare facilities are limited, they need funds to rectify the same.

• The funds will be used to provide medical equipment such as oximeters, thermometers, PPE kits, everyday essentials and to f**und treatments for people who lack resources. **

• Pawan Kumar from Rajasthan is honouring the demise of his son by making covid life-saving drugs such as Remdesivir and Fabiflu, more accessible
• He works towards selling them at cheap prices and ensuring quick delivery
• He is unable to spend Rs 1 lakh required to purchase the inventory his supplier insists upon.
• He has managed to pay 50% of the fee and wishes to raise funds for the remainder- ie. Rs 50,000 by 1st june.
• He needs the funds to continue with the relief work or else he will have to shut down the operation.

A Dalit activist, Nirmala Rani, is working to get essentials to COVID affected Dalit and Muslim families in Saharanpur, UP. A few hundred rupees takes care of essentials for about two weeks for a family. She hopes to raise money to support around 200 families.

• Most of the critical patients are not even being taken in to the hospital as they require ventilators. 
• At this crucial time we plan to put 3 ventilators to lower hospitals and increase if they support increases. Each ventilator costs us 7 Lakh rupees.

• Collaborating with 3 NGOs on the ground (Sakhi Bal Niketan, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and the Suresh Sharma Foundation) and a group of 100 volunteer doctors, the aim is to directly deliver medical kits to families who have been affected by COVID

• Mercy Mission is a group of 20+ NGOs in Bengaluru.

• Prantakatha in collaboration with Peerless Hospital, one of the oldest and reputed hospitals in Eastern India is running trans exclusive primary health care support for trans community.
• On a daily basis Prantakatha is supporting, trying to improve the lives of more than 1500 people

• Farhad Ahmed failing to find a bed or ventilator in any government hospital in Delhi NCR, passed away.
• Was a watch repairer and seller. He was the sole breadwinner
• The objective of the fundraiser is to provide them support for the next few months

• Dr. Aruna Kumar Malik was an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar and passed away due to COVID complications
• This fundraiser is started by a group of students who had the good fortune of being taught by a kind, generous and compassionate professor for the family as he was the sole earning member.

• Marginalized communities largely earn from seeking alms, sex work, daily wage labour and income from small businesses. With state-imposed lockdowns effective, survival has become challenging — it is even tougher for people living with HIV amongst these communities as obtaining their vital Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) is cumbersome during the lockdown.
• Location: Theni, Madurai and Kanyakumari districts (Tamil Nadu).
• Beneficiaries: Sex workers, sexual and gender minorities (LGBTIAQ+) community persons and people living with HIV amongst them.

Covid has uprooted a lot of lives. The ones that are most affected are the trans community. We not only deny them basic rights like the right to education, live, property but also do not include them in our society, our wishes. I'm trying to raise funds for the trans community from the city of Hyderabad, the city I belong to. There has been a lot of suffering and my hope is with this money, there can be some help that we can provide them with. Funds will go completely to the Hyderabad trans community.

Will support trans people living in Mandya who are struggling as food supplies are depleting. Due to the current lockdown in Karnataka, most of them have lost livelihoods and are unable to afford basic necessities like daily ration.

Help a transgender man in Dehradun with living expenses for 2-3 months as he and his partner have lost their jobs and they do not have family support.

The trans community receives no welfare benefits by virtue of most of the community working in the unorganized sector. Daily wages are inaccessible and result in trans people being unable to procure food and basic necessities for themselves and their families.

This collective of folks from Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu is raising funds to support at least 150 trans people with basic food and medical provisions so that they can stay home and safe as the pandemic rages on. Each kit costs approximately 1000 INR.

• A Queer Support Group in Lucknow is raising funds for the transgendered folk
• They are raising the funds to provide food and medical assistance to the transgender people from Lucknow, who are facing a shortage of funds owing to the pandemic.

• Food kits with essential groceries for 200 transgender sex workers in Mysuru to last them two months during this lockdown.
• Money will buy groceries, pay the people packing them, coordinate volunteers, and arrange masks, gloves, and sanitizers for teams sourcing, packing, transporting, and distributing this food

• Provides Menstrual health kit (4 cloth pads,1 pouch, 1 manual) + COVID-19 safety kit (N95 mask, sanitizer) for 30 women:
• Mental health + sexual health support group for 10 sessions in presence of professionals and experts:
• Financial aid or dry ration (rice, pulses, flour etc.) support to 20 persons of LGBTQI+ community in collaboration with Xomonnoy:
• Safety kits (sanitizer, handwash, face shield, oximeter, digital thermometer) for LGBTQIA+ people in need

• Artists, sex workers, and HIV-positive folks from the trans community are struggling to survive this lockdown. This trans rights group is raising funds to support 500 trans people across rural parts of Tamil Nadu with ration supplies, rent, and medical support for the next three months. Any contribution will go a long way to help these communities. 
• Utilization Of Funds: Ration Kits + Rent + Medical support per family is ₹ 3000

• Kshama is a mother of five and the only earning member of her family
• Was a victim of the Delhi riots in January - has lost all sources of income and has barely been able to make ends meet during the pandemic. During the riots, her furniture and a room were completely burned down.
• Currently she is suffering from multiple reproductive health problems to the extent that the doctor has recommended an operation at the earliest (approx cost ₹25,000). With rent, medicines, food, schooling for her children, and other daily expenses, she is unable to procure the money needed to undergo the operation.
• They are also 4 months behind on their rent (₹4000 per month) and have no current earning member in their family

• I left abusive parents and home behind. I am living alone with no source of income. Used to do tuitions but unable to continue due to COVID

To enable children to access smartphones, Laptops, Tablets, Desktop/Computer (Monitors & CPU), Printers, Projectors, Camera & Camera lens, through 700 centres across 25 states and 130 districts located in rural, tribal, marginalized and unreached areas

• Vaishali is raising funds for her father, Shyam Sunder who is suffering from a brain tumor.
