Just as Mohammad Salim Shah (67 yrs old) was recovering from covid19 in April this year, he suffered a massive heart attack. The bypass surgery could not be conducted due to severity of black fungus infection that had spread to his bones. A temporary angioplasty was done at the time.

In May and June we raised money to pay for treatment of the infection and fortunately, the doctors were able to bring it under control.

On 9th July, Shah was taken for a check up and an angiography was done. The results show extremely critical condition as blockage is building up again and the first angioplasty will not hold out for much longer. An operation to insert two stents is now urgently required.

Shah's son Mudassar has been taking care of him since March and hasn't been able to attend work. Without his salary, his finances have fast depleted. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

We are looking to raise funds for Mayuri Dutta who is admitted at Apollo Hospital, Kolkata. Her elder sister Kasturi Dasgupta had weak lungs so the entire family spent the last 15 months shielding her, protecting her and rallying around her. They moulded their lives keeping her safety in the centre of everything they did. However, Corona struck the Dasgupta household and in an unequal fight, took Kasturi away from everything she held dear. The day after her sad demise, Mayuri who is just 34 years old, also had breathing troubles. Though she was immediately admitted to an ICU facility, she spiralled very quickly into critical care and had to be housed in a ventilator. Her infection was uncontrolled, the lungs compromised and doctors had not seen too many success stories, once patients enter this stage. The only ray of hope was offered by a new technology, ECMO, that is giving young patients like Mayuri- one more chance to make it. An ECMO bed has been secured for her and she has now spent 4 days at the hospital fighting for her life. There is a long haul ahead. ECMO treatment is extremely expensive and our insurance coverage is inadequate. We know that we are clutching at straws here but its our only chance to return a semblance of normalcy to a family facing a bleak cruel future.  We are raising funds to help fund Mayuri's treatment.

My father, Mr. Kamlesh Kumar Batra as he has been in the hospital due to Lungs Pnemonia since 7th April 2021. From last 1.5 months, my father has been struggling in the ICU for recovery. He is suffering from post-covid complications and now, due to some medical procedures in the ICU, he has also suffered with a significant brain damage. Because of which, he is now in a coma state. Our family has done all it can to collect the total amount required for the treatment but Rs 50 Lakhs more are required to pay for all the medical expenses. Sadly, my elder sister who was supporting the family financially had lost her job in last July due to Covid pandemic. Hence, we are very financially pressed. 

Jyoti's mother was COVID-positive and had pneumonia. She was admitted in the ICU at Delhi Heart and Lungs Institute Hospital for 22 days. She has been discharged and her treatment continues at home. She is on oxygen support. Pneumonia, lung infection medicines and other medical expenses are very costly, and Jyoti is unable to cover it.

Green Caps JsR Foundation has been involved in relief work from day one of the lockdown. We help people who are isolated, old or incapable of going out with any and all kind of emergency services right from medicines, grocery, fruits and vegetables, to helping them with transportation fr homes to hospitals and back. 

There are many people in city who cannot afford basic meds, food and other costs that this pandemic has made difficult to bear. Keeping that in mind and with the very little help that we get beause of being a small city , we have initiated a small fundraiser to increase our reach to as many people as possible. We plan to set up a 25-bed facility on the campus of DAV Public School, Sector 14, Faridabad. There would be 10 oxygen care beds and 15 HDU (High Dependency Unit) beds. The facility will have a dedicated staff of doctors and nurses, and will provide medical care, medicines and food for the patients free of cost, and the prescribed tests at a subsidized rate.

We will have a team go to villages in collaboration with BK Hospital, Faridabad, and provide rapid antigen tests for people suspected to have COVID. We will initiate contact tracing for those who turn up positive, as well as makes sure that the patients have enough resources to stay in isolation. We will admit the patients who require hospitalization to the facility, and provide them with medical care for as long as required. 

DAV Public School, Sector 14 will provide us space for setting up the facility, as well as rooms for the medical staff free of cost. We would need funds for the following:

1. 10 oxygen beds
2. 15 HDU beds 
3. Medicines
4. Doctors and nursing staff

We have collaborated with a medical tech company to modify normal beds to ICU beds at a fraction of the cost of regularly produced ICU beds. We have also procured the necessary licenses and permissions for setting up the facility, as well as PPE kits for medical staff. The certification of the doctors to be involved, letter from DAV Public School to the CMO, BK Hospital, Faridabad for setting up the facility, as well as the waste management and water licenses have been attached for the perusal of the donors. All funds received will be transferred to DAV Sector 14 Faridabad's trust account, and updates would be provided on their expenditure.

As he did not have the funds for this, and could not raise them in time, he had to borrow Rs 2.5 - 3 Lakhs from local lenders, which he has to return. His daughter continues to need medical assistance, and he has been reduced to borrowing money repeatedly. He is almost on the verge of handing over his property papers to save his daughter’s life. The fundraiser hopes to raise money for him so that he can at least clear off the acquired debt and sustain his family.
